Liebe Kristina,

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Reise nach Deutschland und kam zurück in Australien letze Woche. Wir möchten auf Deutsch antworten, aber es wäre nicht richtig oder gründlich sein. Deshalb, antworten wir auf English! 

We want to learn German for several reasons. Firstly, our son has lived in Munich for 10 years and will marry a lovely Bavarian girl next year. We would like to communicate better with her family and show respect for her German background. Secondly, we wanted an intellectual challenge in our older age! 

We chose TreffPunkt based on the comprehensive description on the website and also because Bamberg sounded like a lovely city to visit. It was easy to travel from Munich to Bamberg by train.

The staff support was excellent from the beginning. E- mail contact before the course in response to our questions and personal help during the course was all of a very high standard. The staff were all enthusiastic and professional.

We attended a one week intensive course. The small group size and discussions were a highlight. Learning German grammar, vocabulary and culture were all important. 

We stayed in a comfortable apartment only 5 minutes walk from the school. The school helped us to find the apartment. It was spacious, self-contained and reasonably priced.

Bamberg is a beautiful, historical city. We don't have anything like this in Australia. It was easy to explore zu Fuß. There is an excellent cultural programme if you are there at the right time of year. We didn't have any problems with safety.

Our only suggestions are the following - and they are as much due to our situation as anything the School could do. We are older with different goals to other students and we were only there for one week. In retrospect, I would try to stay longer. The learning style was different to when we were at school 50 years ago! The modern emphasis on conversation was challenging but ultimately rewarding.
